Zion Originated Outreach Ministry (ZOOM House) 2009 Board of Directors
Liza Anderson-Schmid - Ms. Anderson-Schmid joined the ZOOM Board in 2008 and currently serves as vice-president. She is a science teacher at Edgewood Middle School in the Mounds View School district. Ms. Anderson-Schmid brings to the board her strong belief and experience in education combined with her great love for children and young families. years.
Chad Carney - Mr. Carney joined the ZOOM House Board in 2008 and is the treasurer. Mr. Carney is the director of marketing for Squid Ink Manufacturing, Inc. He and his family are members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and have lived in South Minneapolis for over 15 years.
Lynette Ford - Ms. Ford has a variety of experience working as a volunteer and having successfully completed the ZOOM House program, moving from homelessness to stability. She is very thankful for the help offered to her family. She enjoys writing and photography and is currently pursuing a degree in sociology.
Douglas Harrison - Mr. Harrison joined the ZOOM Board in 2005 and currently serves as the President of the Board. Mr. Harrison moved to Minnesota after living in Naples, Italy, for seven years and is currently the IT Security Manager at Delta Dental of Minnesota. Mr. Harrison is an active member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Matthew Metz - Mr. Metz is a long-time resident of South Minneapolis and is an active member of Zion Lutheran Church. Mr. Metz has worked in Catholic education in the Archdiocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis for nearly 25 years and is currently the principal at Saint Ambrose of Woodbury Catholic School.
Deana Miller - Ms. Miller was elected to the ZOOM House Board in 2009. She has lived in South Minneapolis almost 60 years and is active member of Zion Lutheran Church. She is the retired Director of a Minnesota-based non-profit organization and brings that varied experience to the ZOOM Board, as well as a strong support of educational opportunities and love for children.
Pastor Jen Nagel - Rev. Nagel joined the ZOOM Board in 2007. She has served Salem Lutheran Church in South Minneapolis since 2003. Salem is a partner congregation of ZOOM House. Rev. Nagel combines urban ministry experience and a deep care for the people of the church and the neighborhood.
Norma Pietz - Ms. Pietz has been involved with ZOOM since its inception. She is a long- time member of Zion Lutheran Church and lives in the Lyndale neighborhood. She works at the Lyndale Neighborhood Association office as the Housing and Economic Development Coordinator.
Pastor Mark Schmid - Rev. Schmid serves as an ex-officio member of the ZOOM Board and has been Pastor of Zion Lutheran Church since 2006.
SueAnn Westphal - Ms. Westphal has been on the ZOOM Board since 2002 and currently serves as Secretary. She has been a member of Zion Lutheran Church since 1989. Ms. Westphal has a master’s degree in nursing and works at Hennepin County Medical Center as an RN Clinical Coordinator/Case Manager. She loves the outdoors, her city, and traveling.
